How to Join

How to Join Guilford Park Presbyterian Church

At Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, joining the church is less about checking boxes and more about becoming part of a community seeking to follow Jesus with honesty, compassion, and courage. We are a progressive Christian congregation, committed to justice, inclusion, and love of neighbor—especially neighbors who have been pushed to the margins. At the same time, we work hard to be a community where people can be in relationship across differences of politics, theology, and life experience, grounded not in uniformity but in grace. People come to us from many backgrounds—lifelong Presbyterians, those returning to church after a long absence, and those who are simply curious. Wherever you are starting from, you are welcome here.

If you’re interested in joining, the process is intentionally simple and relational. We periodically offer a brief membership class where you can learn more about our congregation, our beliefs, and our shared commitments, and where your questions and doubts are not only allowed but encouraged. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin; faith is something we practice together, in community. To learn more or to start the conversation, reach out to the church office or speak with one of our pastors—we would be honored to walk with you as you discern your next steps.
