Backpack Beginnings helps over 23,000 children experiencing hunger and trauma in our community. They serve children in need via over 200 partners in Guilford, Forsyth, and Alamance Counties and their Family Market.
Childhood hunger and trauma expose children to risk of developmental, emotional, and educational delays that can last a lifetime. Backpack Beginnings' programs make a positive impact on the health and well-being of children in our community. More information can be found at www.backpackbeginnings.org.

Men of GPPC, don't forget our September 21 golf outing. This is a men's fellowship outing at Iron Play Golf Club at 10 a.m. If you own golf clubs you are welcome to come to this fellowship golf gathering. A sign-up sheet is posted on the fellowship bulletin board in the hall. George Setzer is hosting.
Vendor spaces for the Greensboro Pride Festival sold out early this year; so unfortunately, GPPC was unable to secure a space. However, we have been added to the waiting list in the event that a space opens up between now and the date of the festival. A number of members have expressed interest in gathering as a small group at the festival to show their support for the LGBTQ community as GPPC members. If you would like to be a part of this group, please contact Keith Harrington or any JP Committee member and we will try to coordinate a time to gather as a group. Thank you.
Lunch & Learn - Join Us for an Informative Session on Advance Care Planning, Hospice, Healthcare Power of Attorney, and more!
After worship on Sunday, September 29, we invite you to stay for an important and informative session on key topics such as hospice care, palliative care, advance care planning, healthcare power of attorney, and living wills. Risa Hanau, Licensed Clinical Social Worker from AuthoraCare Collective (a nonprofit organization), will provide an overview of available services, explain why Advance Care Planning is a vital topic for all ages, and will bring sample documents for those interested. Refreshments (food & drink) will be provided.
Whether you’re considering how to make decisions for yourself or how to support a loved one, this session will provide valuable insights. We'll also discuss the importance of having a healthcare power of attorney, including for non-minor children covered by their parents' health insurance. These steps ensure that your loved ones are protected and that their wishes are respected in times of need.
This is a vital conversation that benefits all ages, so please join us and take the opportunity to learn how to plan wisely for the future. Please sign up on the Congregational Care bulletin board if you intend to participate, to help ensure we have enough refreshments for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!
