Fellowship Groups
There are many ways to connect with folks at Guilford Park. Try out any of our wonderful Fellowship groups!
Almanah Women
Fellowship and support for the widows in our congregation. The women meet on the second Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. for lunch (location rotates), and on the last Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. for a movie in the Youth Lounge. Contact Doris Mengel at 336.294.5207 for more information. Sign up sheets for lunches are located on the Senior Adults bulletin board. Dinners of Eight Each year between January and April, all adult members are invited to participate in small dinner groups which rotate monthly. Dinners of eight is a great way to get to know new people and enjoy fellowship in each other’s homes. Sign-ups occur in December. Contact Judy Campbell gj1508 at bellsouth dot net to sign up or for more information. Geezers Breakfast Men 55 and over gather on the 3rd Wednesday morning of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Oakcrest Restaurant (2435 Battleground Avenue) for breakfast and conversation. Guilford Travelers The Guilford Travelers explore the state with day trips once a month. Most trips last from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., but check the times on each individual trip. It's a great way to get to know the state and other members and friends of the church. Contact Edith Phillips for more information. |
Prime Timers
This group offers members and friends of the church aged 55 and above new opportunities for deepening of faith, an expanding of fellowship, the sharing of talents and interests, and opportunities for service. Prime Timers have a monthly luncheon on the third Thursday of each month, at 12:00 p.m. Menus vary from catered meals to covered dish to Bring Your Own Bag! A short program of topics of interest is presented following each meal. All events are advertised in the newsletter. Contact Ann Shelton for more information. Simple Gifts Each Monday morning at 10 a.m., the church crafters gather to complete prayer shawls, knitted caps, and other small projects. Projects such as prayer shawls may be donated to the church for use, or crafters may work on their own personal projects. |
