Holy Week 2016
Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on March 20 and runs through Easter Sunday on March 27. Through the week, the services remember Jesus' final acts: the Last Supper, washing the disciples feet, and his final difficult days and hours. Please journey with us by attending the services listed below.
Palm Sunday Services, March 20: Holy Week begins as we celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem at our regular worship services at 9 and 11 a.m. Children are invited to parade with palms through the sanctuary, and the Children's Choir will be singing at both services. A whole-church breakfast is provided by the Fellowship Committee between 8:30-10 a.m. Dr. Jeff Paschal will be preaching.
Maundy Thursday Service, March 24: This service, held at 7 p.m., remembers Jesus' last day with his disciples. It is when Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper, and washed the disciples' feet. We will celebrate the sacrament of Communion together. Dr. Jeff Paschal will be preaching.
Good Friday Service, March 25: In this service, we will remember Jesus' final hours. The service will start in the sanctuary and move into the Columbarium as we burn the sins brought forward on Sunday, February 28. This service is held at 12 p.m. The Rev. Jo Nygard Owens will be preaching.
Easter Sunday Services, March 27: Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Celebrate the joy of Easter at our 9 and 11 a.m. services. Both services will feature special musical offerings by our choirs. Dr. Jeff Paschal will be preaching.
