Session Class of 2026

Heather Modlin Amick (she/her)

Heather and her husband joined Guilford Park 13 years ago, the same year they were married, intentionally making faith community a foundation of their life together. She serves on the Justice and Peacemaking and Mission committees and participates actively in fundraisers, food drives, book studies, and holiday initiatives. By day, Heather is a high school English teacher with Guilford County Schools; before that, she worked as a newspaper journalist. Her love of reading and writing extends well beyond the classroom, and she also enjoys fitness and travel.

Mike Bivona (he/him)

Mike Bivona has worshiped at Guilford Park since 2012 and currently serves on the Property Committee. Originally from Brooklyn, Mike moved to North Carolina in the 1990s and, as it happens, once lived right across the street from the church’s gravel parking lot. He and his wife have been married for 32 years and have two children currently making their way through higher education. Mike has worked in IT since “before there were viruses, laptops, and cell phones,” and he brings that same practical experience and care to his work at GPPC, helping maintain a facility that supports the missions of all the church’s committees. Mike loves Guilford Park’s inclusiveness and dedication, and he and his family came to GPPC after being invited by their children’s friends and family—and they never felt a desire to leave.

André Conway (he/him)

André as been worshiping at Guilford Park since 2016 and serves as Chair of the Finance & Stewardship Committee. A Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Greensboro, Andre works with founders, executives, and business owners on wealth planning, drawing on his background as a former international equity trader. He and his wife Rebecca have been married for 14 years and live in Greensboro with their two daughters, Caroline and Ava. The family loves traveling around the country and spending time on the beaches of North Carolina and South Carolina.

Rita Jennings (she/her)

Rita and her husband found their home at Guilford Park in 2017 after spending two years visiting churches, and they've been deeply rooted here ever since. She serves on the Personnel Committee and has previously served on the Membership and Adult Education committees, led the Plan Ahead Team during COVID, and participated in countless book studies, Bible studies, Theology on Tap gatherings, and PW Circle. In retirement, Rita and her husband stay active through volunteering, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, and traveling — and they make every effort to be available for their young granddaughter. Family, she says, is the best.

Jill Moore (she/her)

Jill has a deep and lifelong connection to Guilford Park — she grew up here and has returned as an adult, for a total of about 35 years of shared life with this congregation. She serves on the Children and Youth Ministry Committee, plays handbells, and is an active member of her women's circle, which she describes as a true social sisterhood. Jill runs her own math tutoring business from home and is a wife and mother of two adult children. Her wide range of hobbies includes tennis, swimming, live music, hiking, and reading.

John Parker (he/him)

John has worshiped at Guilford Park for roughly 22 years and serves on the Fellowship and Property committees. He describes himself as someone who wants to help whenever and however he can. As he approaches retirement, John is channeling his energy into addressing the challenges faced by the disenfranchised in the Greensboro community — work he finds deeply fulfilling and for which he is grateful for GPPC's support. His hope is simple: one day, to look up and see the work finished.​

Payne Stewart (he/him) - Youth Elder

Payne has been part of the Guilford Park family since he was a week old — making him about as lifelong a member as it gets! He serves on the Children and Youth Committee and finds joy in serving meals at Greensboro Urban Ministry and helping out in the nursery. Outside of church, Payne loves playing guitar and making music, and spending time with friends. He'll tell you what he loves most about GPPC is simple: the way everyone makes him feel welcomed.

Session Class of 2027

Hunter Gibbons (he/him)

Hunter joined Guilford Park in 2022 and serves on the Children and Youth Committee. He works as an outdoor living designer for Greystone Hardscapes, with a particular passion for natural projects featuring native North Carolina species. Hunter and his wife Ellie — who first brought him to the church — love the outdoors together, including hiking, kayaking, and anything that gets them into nature. He volunteers with the youth group and is always eager to lend a hand wherever needed.

Anthony McLean (he/him)

Anthony has been part of Guilford Park since 2018 and serves on the Mission Committee. He is retired after a 40-year career as a mental health and substance abuse professional, and his hobbies include studying history, cycling, swimming, and playing tennis. Anthony has a daughter and granddaughter living in the area and participates in weekly Bible studies. He was drawn to Guilford Park by the warmth of the congregation and Pastor Stephen's theological teachings — and he notes that the church's gifted musicians and choirs make the music something truly special.

Miranda Peascoe (she/her)

Miranda joined Guilford Park in 2023 and was drawn by the congregation's inclusivity and active community presence. She serves on the Justice and Peacemaking Committee and Session, and finds that work deeply meaningful. At home, Miranda and her husband Joey — married nearly 13 years — are kept busy by their 12-year-old daughter, two dogs, and nine chickens.

Donna Searchfield (she/her)

Donna moved to Greensboro in 2021 with her partner David Zinn to be closer to family, and she found her church home at Guilford Park the following year. Originally from Southeast Pennsylvania, Donna has lived across the country and worshiped in many different denominations, and she describes GPPC as a congregation that truly feels like family — offering abundant grace wherever you find yourself on your journey. She serves on the Personnel Committee and in Presbyterian Women, and her women's circle is both a cherished source of community and ongoing study.

Ellen Weiner (she/her)

Ellen has been a part of Guilford Park since 1982, and her love for this congregation runs deep. She serves on the Worship Committee and Session and is a member of Presbyterian Women Circle 9. Ellen treasures the beautiful variety of GPPC — across ages, worship styles, and voices — and brings that same richness to her own life: her family's background spans law, nonprofit work, teaching, volunteering, and raising a son and daughter. She and her husband were in their 20s and newly married when they first joined, and the community they've found here has been a grounding presence ever since.

Jody Burig Wood (she/her)

Jody has worshiped at Guilford Park for 30 years and will tell you that some of her very best friends are people she met here. A retired attorney, she serves on the Children and Youth, Congregational Care, Nominating, and Preschool committees, and her Circle 17 sisters hold a special place in her heart. She and her husband Keith have two grown children who were also raised at GPPC. At home, they share their lives with five cats and a dog, and Jody is an enthusiastic tennis and pickleball player.

Session Class of 2028

Rodney Clinard (he/him)

Rodney and Annette joined the Guilford Park family about two and a half years ago and have jumped in wholeheartedly ever since. Rodney serves on the Membership Committee and Session and loves serving meals at Greensboro Urban Ministry and supporting the congregation's ministry to homeless women. In retirement, Rodney and Annette enjoy tending their gardens, yard, and ponds, staying active with Pilates and Silver Sneakers, and escaping to the beach whenever they can. They are quick to say: they love their church.

Dylan Lewellyn (he/him)

Dylan has been part of the Guilford Park community since 2008, when he first visited as a child with his parents. He is currently a seminary student at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, pursuing ordination in the PC(USA). At GPPC, Dylan serves on the Worship Committee and has contributed in many hands-on ways over the years — chaperoning youth group, running the sound system and livestream, and occasionally filling the pulpit. When he's not studying, he enjoys reading, writing, gaming, and the company of his wonderfully bothersome cat, Puka.

Bo Rodenbough (he/him)

Bo Rodenbough has been a part of the Guilford Park community for several decades. He serves on both the Personnel and Finance Committees, bringing the same careful attention to the congregation that he brings to his professional life as a partner at Brooks Pierce, where he focuses his practice on complex litigation involving interest rate swaps and financial services, construction, real estate, professional malpractice, and business tort and contract disputes. Bo loves that Guilford Park is a place where everyone is genuinely welcome, and where the congregation can take courageous stands for justice while still modeling neighborliness with people across the theological and political spectrum.

Ann Swain (she/her)

Ann and her husband relocated from the remote mountains of northwest Montana to Greensboro to be closer to family, and they found their church home at Guilford Park in 2023. She serves on the Congregational Care Committee and the APNC, and cherishes her involvement in Presbyterian Women, describing her circle as a small sorority of women who genuinely care for one another and for others in need. Ann's professional background is in counseling and teaching, with a particular focus on the issues of aging. She is also a writer — her credits include articles for a regional Montana magazine and, in a delightful twist, custom murder mystery scripts for parties and retreats.

Pat Yelton (she/her)

Pat has been a beloved member of Guilford Park for 44 years, and she and her husband Don raised their two daughters here. A retired Special Education teacher, Pat stays active on the Fellowship, Preschool, and Liturgical Arts committees and is a member of Circle 9. Outside of church, she enjoys tennis, pickleball, and pottery, and volunteers regularly at Backpack Beginnings. These days, Pat and Don's hearts are especially full thanks to their twin 8-year-old granddaughters.

Moderator of Session

Rev. Dr. Stephen M. Fearing (he/him)

Stephen has served as Head of Staff of Guilford Park Presbyterian Church since 2022, and in that time he has come to love this congregation deeply — its warmth, its commitment to justice, and its willingness to ask hard questions together. Beyond GPPC, Stephen is active in broader conversations about faith, democracy, and the church's role in the world. He is married to Tricia and is the father of two amazing girl, Hazel Grace (6) and Winnie (4), and when he's not in his study or visiting church members, you might find him at a Dave Matthews Band concert, which he considers a perfectly legitimate form of spiritual renewal.

Clerk of Session

Donna Barrier (she/her)

Donna grew up at Guilford Park and has been part of this congregation for 65 years, watching it grow and change in wonderful ways across the decades. A retired middle school educator, they serve as Clerk of Session, Church Historian, and on the Congregational Care committee — roles that keep them deeply connected to the full scope of GPPC's mission and ministry. Donna is an active participant in Presbyterian Women's Circle and finds joy in reading, puzzles of all kinds, and caring for their rescued fur baby, Sonny.
