Guilford Interfaith Hospitality Network enables our church family to unite hearts and hands in partnership with Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church to provide nutritious meals, safe overnight lodging, and compassionate assistance for homeless families. As a supporting partner, GPPC participates for one week each quarter and we are responsible for three days of that week. Volunteers are needed to prepare meals for three to five families, serve as dinner hosts and two volunteers are needed to serve as overnight hosts.

Greensboro Urban Ministry

Guilford Park church helps support Greensboro Urban Ministry with money for emergency needs such as rent and electricity.  Members volunteer for two food collections per year at area grocery stores.  We also participate in the annual CROP walk for hunger, provide and serve breakfast a year, donate items to the clothing bank, and lead worship services at Christmas and Easter.

GPPC will be serving breakfast to the homeless at the
Greensboro Urban Ministry on
Sunday, April 13

We will meet at the GUM at 7:00 am to set up and be ready to serve by 7:30 am.  We should be finished by 8:30 am in order to be on time for worship. We will need volunteers to prepare breakfast casseroles, set-up, prepare a short devotion, serve and clean-up. Sign-up sheet and recipe for the breakfast casserole will be posted on the mission and service bulletin board. Singers, instruments  and newcomers are always welcomed . If you have questions, Mike Sasser @ 282-6631 or sassers@aol.com.

When you buy a "handcrafted" item at the ritzy mall chain store, how do you know where it is made, or who makes it? How do you know that your "authentic Tibetan prayer bowl" is even really from Tibet?  Click on the Ten Thousand Villages logo above to learn more.

At Ten Thousand Villages we buy our handicrafts from artisans in developing countries in accordance with fair trade principles. We know the people and collectives we purchase from, and often we know their families. Our traditional Vietnamese dolls really do come from Vietnam, actually from a 75-year-old woman named Huynh Thi Sanh and her daughter-in-law, Hanh.

Ten Thousand Villages is an amazing story. It is a story of a mission that became a market leader, a business that is not in the business of making money but does it anyway by providing items that speak to your senses and your soul. It is a story we believe your readers would like to learn about.

Please take a moment to look at our story. Ten Thousand Villages is a rare place where business ethics and beauty mix, and we'll be glad to share the secret of our success.
