New Members Classes

Periodically, New Member Classes are offered at 10:00 a.m. during the Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings. These classes are led by our pastors with assistance from some of our elders. When offered, the classes meet for four consecutive Sundays. Many of our new members are new to the Presbyterian Church. Some are even new to Christian faith! Some are long time members of  another Presbyterian congregation. In all of these cases, we want our new members to quickly become comfortable and at home in their new church “home.” Class topics include discussions about the basics of Christian faith, the distinguishing characteristics of our Presbyterian and Reformed faith tradition, the unique form of governance practiced by Presbyterians, and church history, including the story of Guilford Park Presbyterian, past and present.

The class is designed to be fun and informative in a relaxed setting. You actually do not have to be a new member to attend! Some of our long time visitors may want to learn about  our church before making a commitment to join.
