Christian Education For Adults

Sunday morning church school helps adults of all ages continue to learn about God and the Bible, and to grow in their faith in the context of today's world. Visitors are always welcome. Please feel welcome to visit several Sunday school classes and learn more about the current curriculum from the class contact.

 

Parlor Class

This established class uses the Presbyterian Uniform Lesson Series to guide their Bible study. Contact: Roxie Stiles, 545-2953

Library Class

This class includes young adults & families who wish to grow in their faith & relate Bible study to contemporary & family issues. They are currently studying the “Learning Forgiveness” series of The Thoughtful Christian Contact Judy Herron for more information

 

Fellowship Hall Class

This is a diverse class of adults who study Biblical faith related to culture and society. They are currently studying "Revelation", a video based series on the book of Revelation,  by Dr. Mickey Efird, professor at Duke Divinity School: David Heywood

 

Special Classes

Adult Christian education opportunities are available on weekday mornings and evenings, as well as Sundays. Small groups meet for Bible and book studies throughout the year to explore biblical, theological, spiritual and ethical topics. If you are interested in forming a small group study, contact Margie Boyd. Our current offerings are:

 

 

Thursday Morning Bible Study


(9:00 – 10:15 a.m.) Women of all ages are welcome to join this group each Thursday morning from September – April for Bible Study and fellowship. This fall they are studying Beth Moore’s series on “Breaking Free. Wendy Woodlief, faciliator.

“Developing Christian Spiritual Disciplines”


Wednesdays, September 15 – October 20th.   6:30 – 8:00 p.m.   Using material by the Quaker author Richard Foster, Rev. Bob Herron will be leading this 6 week class to help us grow in faith and practice.    Contact Bob Herron for more information.

One City – One Book    The Soloist


We’ll be joining people all over Greensboro to read and discuss The Soloist, by Steve Lopez. Books are available for loan beginning September 12th. Louise O’Shea will be leading a book discussion on Wednesday, October 13th, from 10:30 – 12:00, and 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. We will also be showing the movie The Soloist on September 28th at 10:00 a.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. in the downstairs lounge.

Theology On Tap (for men)


A diverse group of men gather monthly to reewad and discuss current issues related to faith and life. This group meets in homes or at local restaurants on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Contact David Heywood, facilitator.
